All surgical procedures are performed by Dr Laur

Precision & safety

Careful assessment, appropriate margins and meticulous technique to achieve the best possible outcome.

Reconstruction focused

Reconstruction tailored to the location and size of the defect for both function and cosmesis

Referral when needed

we collaborate with Mohs surgeons, plastic surgeons and other specialists when another approach is more appropriate.

Surgical services

Surgery tailored to the lesion and the location.

From straichtforward excision to more complex reconstruction. the approach is determined by cancer type, size, site and your individual goals

Standard excision

Removal of the skin cancer with an appropriate clinical margin. The tissue is sent for histopathology to confirm clearance

Direct closure

Where possible, the wound is closed primarily with careful suture placement to achieve the best cosmetic result.

Local skin flaps

If direct closure is not suitable, nearby skin is carefully repositioned to repair the defect while preserving function and appearance

Skin Grafts

For selected defects where flap or direct closure is not appropriate, skin from another site may be used to reconstruct the area

WHEN REFERRAL IS MORE APPROPRIATE

Some skin cancers are best
managed with a different
surgical approach.

We will advise and coordinate referral when Mohs surgery, plastic surgery, head & neck surgery, melanoma specialists or multidisciplinary care is likely to provide the best possible outcome.

We commonly refer for:

Mohs micrographic surgery

Complex head & neck reconstruction

Large or high risk melanomas

Reconstruction requiring specialist expertise
